David Sullivan quote
"Result-wise, we have not hit the heights we managed over the course of the first half of the campaign since Christmas, but this season has still been a step forward and we've continued to build in our third year back in the Premier League"

So on that basis, what possible reason could he give for not giving Allardyce a new contract, that's on the basis Allardyce wants to stay.

For the record, i do think its time for a change.

I think he is right. Results wise we have had an awful second half of the season but the bigger picture is that we now currently have a better squad than we did last year.

It's not code. It's just facts.

That must be where I heard it then.

Nothing is impossible.

Glen, he said he would be happy to take us on when he was out of work at the time we were manager less after Grant had left

I think that being in Europe (if we are) will be a major factor in attracting the right manager so hopefully that will all be revealed as soon as possible after Sunday.

I'd normally laugh with that type of comment, but it is a good point to make because when you think about it, where could he go with what will be available if he gets sacked.

He has already been to PSG, Guardiola has said he isn't leaving Munich. Mourinho, Wenger, Van Gaal & Allegri aren't going anywhere. Maybe Milan or Napoli would be attractive to him if they wanted to make a change this summer.

So that leaves Liverpool, Man City, Newcastle and us as possible other opportunities. So as you say, it isn't impossible.

I am also sure a few years ago that Ancelotti was once quoted as saying that if the right project was available then he would even take a championship job.

All sounds ridiculous but Klopp, Ancelotti, Benitez etc can't all go to the same club. So you never know.

Re: David Sullivan quote
You would think this pool of 6-8 'top' managers would get bored playing musical chairs and actually want to take on a proper challege.... you could be right FC, Ancelloti has made the right noises in the past.

It's not beyond the realms of possibility that Ancelloti could manage us

Re: David Sullivan quote
I can't see Liverpool getting rid of Rodgers yet, they will give him at least another season.

Man City will want a manager with a higher profile than Benitez, I can't see them wanting Liverpool and Chelsea's cast offs... perhaps as a one season stop gap until Pep arrives.

No way that Ashley will stump up the necessary to get Benitez... he is one tight fucker.

That leaves us... cue annoucement that Rafa is having a 12 month sabbatical.

If Ancelotti goes, I can't see past Zidane for the Real Madrid job.

I don't know if any of you saw Sunday Supplement on Sunday morning on sky, but Martin Samuel not only reckons that Benitez is the number 1 choice, he apparently is in a field of 1.

Jason Burt of the telegraph, a highly respected journalist also added that Allardyce is 80%-90% certain to go and the Spanish paper AS reckons Benitez has had concrete offers from 3 Premier League clubs (probably 3 out of Liverpool, Man City, Newcastle & us).

I'd say unless Liverpool and Man City really want him, then perhaps Benitez would favour a move to us over Newcastle.

If we have to change it would be Klopp or Benitez for me to.

I'd be more than happy with with Rafa or BIllic. Wouldn't be disappointed in either de boer or Laudrup either. Something has been going on in the background with Rafa thou? I heard he was talking or his agent was months ago to the board, I checked the odds 33/1, wish I'd put that tenner on now.. Can't understand statements about BIllic not a proven manager? Croatia national squad and besiktas been doing well all season. Hasn't won anything yet but what has the fat fucker won?!!

I had you down as the only reliable ITK on here after confirming that! How reliable is this other source of yours ?

Glenn Rodent 12:18 Mon May 18
Re: David Sullivan quote
I could be wrong but I just can't see the owners going for Bilic. They don't like to take risks and I think they are sticking their neck out a little bit by going with him.

I'd imagine Benitez would be a far more favourable option because of his vast Managerial experience including in the Premier League.

Other than Klopp, I'd favour Benitez out of anyone that has been linked to date.
